Overview

For this project, I developed a Python-based prototype for TV and radio broadcast tracking software aimed at advertising agencies. The goal was to enhance system performance by processing broadcast data in real time, providing agencies with timely insights to optimize advertising strategies.

Research: I researched existing media monitoring solutions and identified performance bottlenecks affecting real-time data processing. The study focused on optimizing response times while maintaining data accuracy and system reliability.

Information Architecture: The prototype needed to track and process broadcast data from multiple sources simultaneously while delivering real-time insights. The primary challenge was reducing system response time without compromising data accuracy or system stability.

Challenges

Real-time data processing is demanding, especially when handling large volumes of broadcast content from multiple channels. The challenge was to optimize the system's response time to ensure advertising agencies received timely and accurate data.

Optimizing Real-Time Performance:
  • Challenge: The system's slow response time affected the ability to deliver real-time insights, which is critical for advertising agencies.
  • Solution: I implemented asynchronous data processing and optimized Python's data handling capabilities, improving system response times and ensuring real-time data accuracy without sacrificing performance.

Results/Conclusion:

The Python-based prototype significantly improved response times, enabling real-time data processing for broadcast tracking. Although still a prototype, the system demonstrated the potential to enhance advertising agencies' decision-making processes by providing timely and accurate insights, laying the foundation for further development.
